BICYCLE FINE ART AT KITTY CLAY
Southampton, New York (June 24, 2015) – Bicycle Fine Art is delighted to collaborate with Kitty Clay to produce a showcase for the month of July. A launch reception will be held on Friday of Art Hamptons weekend, July 3rd, 2015 at 6:00pm.
Bicycle is a fine art advising business founded by Curator Lisa-Thi Beskar who is committed to representing the excellence of emerging artists from across the country. Beskar has curated a range of original works intended specifically for discerning interior designers and the private collector. This show merges the rigorous aesthetic of Bicycle with Kitty Clay’s signature elan and love of travel. As with everything Kitty Clay, each selected piece holds a story.
Bicycle and Kitty Clay have decided to join forces this summer to produce this special fine art exhibition. Based on their shared philosophy of connecting people through art, Clay’s aesthetic along with Beskar’s discerning eye and passion to create a collective of artists who have depth, craft and interest highlight the unique personal relationship between artist and collector.
The exhibition will feature Minneapolis artist Neal Perbix (Grossman Scholarship recipient) who employs utilitarian objects and construction materials in his work to explore how information is conveyed; award-winning, multi-media artist Michael Gaughan, whose meticulous watercolor paintings often reference pop culture, irrationality, mischievousness and the human experience; David Donovan Jensen, whose densely layered process paintings directly engage the materiality of his studio environment; and minimalist oil painter Danielle Voight, whose meditative compositions project a subtle repose; Omaha-based photographer Denver Dalley (of the band Desaparecidos) whose documentary work offers narrative on exploration and shared memory; Chad Fonfara, known for his exquisite glasswork, has created a series of prints as a companion to his hot-sculpted bird series. Representing Brooklyn, Dan Sabau whose intensely psychological water-color portraits hold a fascination with unconventional beauty.
Projection artist Spencer Bewley will perform outdoors with a unique installation comprised of found and self produced 16mm film. DJ Duo Hands Bellmer will be spinning the vinyl tunes.
Bicycle Fine Art artists are showing at Kitty Clay’s from June 23 – July 28. The reception will be at Kitty Clay’s, 27 West Main Street, South Hampton, NY 11968.
